A varietal of Tieguanyin from Anxi County, Fujian. Monkey Pick grows in high elevations with unique terroir, which is responsible for this tea's oily liquor and floral-sweet flavor. Legend has it that it was monks who originally trained monkeys to pick these valuable and inaccessible tea leaves from remote cliff sides as tribute for the imperial court. Today, the name exists as a poetic moniker for high grade teas that are grown and picked in the unique environments of high elevations.
