High Climate Tea will be hosting a Valentine's Day dinner event (Friday, February 14th) consisting of a three course meal complete with tea pairing, poetry reading, and live jazz performance celebrating all the flavors of love! Only limited seating available.

Each of the three courses with its unique tea pairing will be introduced by Hunter Strickland, followed by a poetry reading by Gavin Dillard, and then a jazz set featuring vocalist Roberta Baum and bassist Zack Page.

The event will begin with the first course being served at 6:30pm. Seating arrangements are first come, first served. Admission will be registered by name used for the purchase order.


First Course: Winter Salad
Wilted kale and jasmine scented white tea dressed in a yuzu vinaigrette, topped with mandarin orange, pomegranate seeds, and spiced cashews.
Second Course: Dumpling Soup
Hand-rolled dumplings filled with fermented Korean olives, shiitake mushrooms, and roasted garlic in a clear ginger and lemongrass vegetable broth.
Third Course: Chili and Chocolate Mousse
A light and fluffy mousse of decadent chocolate with a hint of chili, topped with a rose cream and raspberry sauce dressed with mint.

Gavin Dillard, AKA "The Naked Poet," has published eight collections of verse.  His poetry has been recorded by James Earl Jones and published in anthologies and periodicals worldwide. Gavin has written comedy for Dolly Parton, Lily Tomlin, Joan Rivers. Gavin is the author of two operas, two musicals, and numerous recorded songs. He is an Asheville native currently residing on his Black Mountain tea plantation. 

Roberta Baum and Zack Page both have a long and accomplished history as jazz musicians. Their performance style has a way of bewitching audiences as their unique interpretations of jazz standards can gravitate from lush to feral, sensual to sublime.
